Flying Fish

31% website revenue increase from full service digital marketing

The problem

Based in Cowes, Isle of Wight, Flying Fish is a training provider of Superyacht, Yachtmaster, Windsurfing and Sailing courses.

Trying to make Flying Fish more profitable, the new owner of Flying Fish stripped back all marketing spend, including digital agencies, and focused only on Google Ads to attract new customers. However running the business, being an instructor on Yachtmaster courses and learning how to become a PPC expert became harder to manage.

The challenge with Flying Fish was to build trust in digital marketing by implementing a long term digital marketing strategy that achieved a very clear return on investment.

Our solution

We started with the lowest hanging fruit, which was rebuilding the PPC Google Ads campaign in a more logical way and sending the first ever newsletter to their 20,000 contacts. This yielded bookings instantly.

After this initial success, we created a content marketing plan based on answering questions customers ask. The long term goal with the content was to increase organic traffic and topic authority.

We then looked at the website as a whole, using on-site SEO techniques such as rewriting meta titles and urls. Adding Google reviews to the website and redesigned the homepage to reflect user navigation all played into converting website visitors into customers.

Using the content generated from answering customer questions, we created an automated lead generating Ebook and offered it to website visitors as a value exchange. They gave Flying Fish their contact details and in return received a guide on how to get a job on a superyacht. These leads went into an automated email sales funnel we built within Flying Fish’s chosen CRM.

Results

The content we have refined and created for Flying Fish has transformed their organic traffic, with over 20,000 users now visiting their website every month. 

The automated lead generation campaign, which includes a downloadable E-Book has created 667 leads, 56 paying customers and £136,000 revenue. This automated system is continuously creating leads and bookings for Flying Fish, which frees up our time to help with the development of future products and services.
